Basic Life Support Transport (BLS)

SMH provides Basic Life Support (BLS) for emergent and non-emergent pre-hospital care transports. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) staff every BLS ambulance and follow the guidelines pertaining to the Department State Health Services (DSHS) and National Registered Emergency Medical Technicians
(NREMT).

Each EMT is trained and certified in Emergency Vehicle Operation Courses (EVOC). Each BLS ambulance is staffed with two (2) certified EMT-Basics with continuous training in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support.
