Ms. Gutierrez’s dispatch career started over 30 years ago with Le Fleur Transportation, which is a company that specializes in disability wheelchair van transports. Ms. Gutierrez was responsible for building the foundation and creating a robust communication center for Le Fleur’s Texas Division.
As her experience expanded, she had the opportunity to work with one of the largest privately-owned ambulance companies in Bexar County, Metro Ambulance. At Metro, Ms. Gutierrez managed the call intake process and logistical coordination of all units daily ranging from hundreds of appointments and 50 plus units in the field. In 2006, Ms. Gutierrez applied her dispatch experience with logistics during the Hurricane Katrina disaster.
Ms. Gutierrez is now the Dispatch Supervisor for Superior Mobile Health with an Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification. She manages and provides continuous dispatch training for her team resulting in one of the most recognized communication centers in Bexar County. Her role at Superior Mobile Health is significant due to the ability to manage with ease the high traffic call-in take and high acuity levels from facilities that Superior Mobile Health serves.
